(A strategic plan for a better Western PA Conference)
BELIEVE AGAIN!, the strategic plan for a new Western Pennsylvania Conference, is the result of more than a year of surveys, analysis of the gathered information, and design of a plan involving hundred and hundreds of United Methodists across our member churches.
At this Annual Conference 2006 session at Grove City College, June 15-18, the plan is presented to you for approval. Learn and pray about the strategic plan and vote to BELIEVE AGAIN!!
The MISSION for the BELIEVE AGAIN! strategic plan is simple: Provide leadership, connection, and resources to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
The VISION for our Conference is: To ignite a passionate, spiritual connection with Christ among all people in Western Pennsylvania.
The CORE VALUE for our BELIEVE AGAIN! plan and Conference is: We love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength and our neighbors as ourselves. This value is inspired by our Wesleyan heritage and centered on integrity, accountability and inclusiveness.
The five goals of the BELIEVE AGAIN! plan can be each summarized by a keyword and brief description:
1) DISCOVER - Ensure that effective United Methodist communities of faith are healthy and strategically positioned, throughout Western Pennsylvania
2) STRETCH - Increase a United Methodist presence within Western Pennsylania by developing new communities of faith and ministry groups
3) LEAD - Expect and achieve excellence in lay and clergy leadership
4) GO - Increase local church involvement in mission, justice and outreach ministry, locally, regionally, nationally and globally
5) CONNECT - Improve the ministry and systems of the Western Pennsylvania Conference to better facilitate disciple-making.
